The Cowboys stuck to the script.
In keeping with last week’s declaration that the Cowboys’ season is effectively over, we’re not going to spend much time each week dissecting how lousy the team plays. Especially not after a game like last night’s 34-10 loss to Matt Goodman’s Houston Texans, which contained more of the same stuff we’ve grown accustomed to watching this year.
Stop me if this sounds familiar: the Cowboys couldn’t stop the run (Houston’s Joe Mixon ran for 109 yards and three touchdowns on 5.5 yards per carry), looked toothless on offense without Dak Prescott (Dallas averaged 2.8 yards per carry and scored one touchdown), imploded in the second half (a seven-point halftime deficit ballooned into a 24-point loss), and once again failed to win at AT&T Stadium (Dallas is 0-5 at home this season).
You’ve seen this movie before. You will see it several more times before the season is out. We’ll see you later this week with more interesting Cowboys topics, like Rivers McCown on Micah Parsons’ future in Dallas.
