Staff Accountant

D Magazine Partners is looking for a Staff Accountant that will be responsible for a broad array of accounting functions which includes, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and special projects as needed.  The ideal candidate will be a thorough professional with good communication skills, must be willing to assist in all areas of the accounting department.

Responsibilities :

  • Balance sheet account reconciliations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Month-end closing journal entries.
  • Maintain ad hoc reporting.

Required skills and qualifications : 

  • At least 6 years of experience.
  • Associate/Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance.
  • Strong organizational and excellent mathematical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to multitask while communicating and working with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Great attention to detail with a hands-on work style.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Preferred qualifications :

  • Experience as a staff accountant or similar role for a company with 100+ employees.
  • Prior experience using NetSuite.

Editorial

D Home and D Weddings Associate Editor

D Home and D Weddings are looking for an associate editor to join our team. The right candidate will be a mix of engaging storyteller, detail-oriented multi-tasker, and industrious team player. You’re curious about your city, the interiors and weddings industries, and the people who bring them to life. You’ve got a natural voice, are a stickler for grammar, and love a good pun. You’re a self-starter who’s not afraid to chase down information. You live by deadlines. You can effectively juggle multiple projects while maintaining quality and thoroughness. And you’re willing to pitch in wherever is needed to get the job done.

Responsibilities :

  • Reporting and writing for D Home (5x/year) and D Weddings (2x/year) print publications, as well as online verticals
  • Managing the digital content calendars for both titles and optimizing print stories for online audiences
  • Managing the content calendar for D Home and D Weddings’ social media accounts and writing/editing engaging captions
  • Overseeing factchecking of articles to ensure accuracy
  • Interviewing, hiring, and managing one to two interns per semester
  • Assisting the creative team with photo shoots as needed (facilitating pick-ups/drop-offs, transporting goods, cataloging items)
  • Occasionally, some evening hours will be required to attend industry events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in journalism or a related field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, InCopy, InDesign, and WordPress a plus
  • Knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and other social media platforms a plus

Production

Production Manager

D Magazine Partners has an immediate opening for a Production Manager. If you’re a friendly perfectionist with an eagle eye for quality control, keep reading.

Quality control – the ability to take the work through multiple departments, with multiple stakeholders, and communicate with and extract from our printer the highest standards – is critical to your success.

We’re looking for someone who’s both relentlessly organized and excellent at building and maintaining relationships with designers, editors, and sales staff. Logic, tact, and a great attitude go a long way.

Duties include creation and management of office-wide publication deadlines, preflight and print prep of both print advertising materials and editorial content, and occasional design for advertising needs. Candidate will need to be a scrupulous protector of qualityand will be responsible for final file signoff and upload, and various departmental documentations.

Our ideal candidate believes in a quality product, can sense a paper weight change a mile away, and gets personal satisfaction crossing off items from their to-do list.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Construct initial layout of magazine based on advertising and editorial needs
  • Manage process of materials collection, including tracking for in-house produced advertising
  • Coordinate and enforce office-wide publishing deadlines
  • Preflight and print prep all magazine content
  • Upload and approve magazine content to printers and to our website
  • Manage manufacturing and distribution expenditures
  • Daily check-ins with editorial, art and sales staff on materials needed and production status
  • Vet and oversee print and manufacturing contracts and vendors

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements: 

  • 8+ years experience at a publication or agency preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in design or other creative field, and mastery of Adobe Creative Suite required
  • Experience in print production and print vendor management
  • Proven track record of relationship building, personality management, and calm temperament under fire
  • Highly organized with documented success in a fact-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Samples of work produced required

Position Overview:

The Sales Director is a vital member of our sales leadership team, responsible for overseeing the execution of sales strategies developed in collaboration with the VP of Sales. Leading the sales team, this role focuses on driving team performance, fostering growth in digital sales, and ensuring that sales operations align with our overall revenue goals. The ideal candidate has a strong background in media sales operations, CRM management, pricing strategy, and digital product expertise. They will lead the sales team in achieving targets while promoting best practices and continuous improvement. The products and sales teams it will help drive cover D Magazine print and digital, D CEO products, D HomeD Weddings, and multi-platform custom programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Generation and Team Performance:

  • Lead the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets, focusing on digital sales growth and maximizing cross-channel sales opportunities.
  • Partner with the VP of Sales to develop, implement, and monitor effective sales strategies that align with the organization’s revenue objectives.
  • Drive a high-performance sales culture through mentoring, regular performance check-ins, and goal-setting empowering team members to excel in client acquisition and retention.

Digital Sales and Product Expertise:

  • Act as the in-house expert for digital media solutions, guiding the sales team on product offerings, pricing strategies, and campaign optimization to ensure client satisfaction and campaign success.
  • Identify and lead initiatives for new digital revenue opportunities, collaborating with digital ad operations, product, and creative teams to execute and drive results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to digital campaigns, working closely with sales and operations teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery.

Sales Operations and CRM Management:

  • Manage account assignments.
  • Oversee the use and optimization of the CRM system (Launchpad), ensuring all sales activities are accurately tracked and analyzed to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with accounting, client services, and external CRM support teams to maintain smooth workflows, troubleshoot system issues, and continuously improve sales tracking processes and reporting tools that provide insights into team performance, pipeline health, and revenue forecasts.

Strategic Collaboration and Sales Support:

  • Serve as a primary support resource for the sales team, assisting with proposal development, strategic planning, and client issue resolution to enable team success.
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure alignment on offerings and delivery of high-quality client solutions.
  • Provide training and onboarding for new sales team members, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet their goals and uphold best practices in sales.

Management and Team Development:

  • Oversee the client operations team, supporting shared resources between sales and marketing, and ensuring team members receive professional development opportunities.
  • Supervise the digital ad operations team, guiding them in executing digital sales strategies that contribute to overall revenue targets.

  • 8+ years of experience in sales management, with a focus on driving revenue growth and team performance in media, publishing, or advertising.
