You might stand out in the blinds sporting this high-end hunting gear.

As an avid hunter, I know that how gear performs in the elements can make or break your enjoyment of the outdoors. Here are my top picks from three new premier outdoor retailers for your next adventure, no matter your pursuit.

Sitka

Briars and barbed wire can wreak havoc on clothing. That’s why Bozeman, Montana-based Sitka made waves in the waterfowl community when it introduced a 100-percent serviceable guarantee on their Delta waders. The new 3,026-square-foot store on McKinney (just south of Knox Street) also stocks whitetail and big-game lines, as well as Dallas-branded casual wear. 4438 McKinney Ave., Ste. 200

Kuiu

Whether you plan to fly into remote drop camps via bush plane or carry everything you need for two weeks on your back, every ounce matters. Known for ultra lightweight performance gear, Kuiu (pronounced Koo-you) opened its second U.S. store, in October, just north of the Galleria. The company’s Verde camo—which includes macro and micro patterns—is an ideal match for evergreen and tundra environments. 13846 Dallas Parkway, Ste. 100

King Ranch Saddle Shop

Recently opened at The Star in Frisco, King Ranch Saddle Shop’s newest store is styled after the King family home on the largest ranch in the country, near—where else?—Kingsville. Elevated hunting gear and handcrafted leather goods embody the legacy of the South Texas brush-country ranch and its 157-year-old saddlery. 3625 The Star Blvd., Ste. 310, Frisco
