Energy Domain, a tech-enabled online marketplace based in Fort Worth, has closed a $5 million Series A funding round. The funds will be used to finalize the development of their new platform, Energy Domain Data, and to explore synergies with their existing marketplace.

Founded by Ryan Vinson and the 5Ms Technologies team, the company has experienced nearly three years of triple-digit growth by enhancing the buying, selling, and leasing of oil and gas properties through technology and analytics. Rather than seeking large investments from a few venture capitalists, Energy Domain opted for smaller contributions from individuals and companies within the oil and gas sector.

The company has moved to new offices in the Cattle Raisers Building in downtown Fort Worth to support its expansion, providing ample space for business development and software engineering teams. Earlier this year Energy Domain acquired tech platform Energent from U.K.-based Westwood Global Energy Group.

“We’ve become well-known as a tech-enabled marketplace for upstream oil and gas deals,” said Energy Domain CEO Ben Heinzelmann. “So we understand how essential accurate and timely data is to our clients. Currently, investors in the oil and gas space have to rely on costly third-party data platforms to gain intelligence and underwrite deals. With this capital raise and our proprietary data sets, we’re poised to transform into an upstream technology platform with two products, Energy Domain Marketplace and Energy Domain Data.”

Leon Capital Group’s New Partnership to Broaden Access to Investment Strategies

Leon Capital Group has partnered with iCapital, a global fintech platform, to enhance access to alternative investment opportunities for wealth managers and high-net-worth individuals. Previously, Leon primarily utilized its balance sheet for investments. Still, its fund offerings will now be available on the iCapital Marketplace, broadening access to innovative real estate, healthcare, credit, and other investment strategies.

With approximately $10 billion in private assets under management, Leon aims to expand its investment network by opening its vehicles to third-party investors, ensuring alignment of interests through significant capital commitments. This approach minimizes conflicts of interest and emphasizes generating returns, as seen in their disciplined evaluation of individual assets within their real estate portfolios. Financial advisors and qualified investors can now easily access Leon’s diverse funds through iCapital’s user-friendly platform, which streamlines the investment process.

Both leaders emphasize a shared commitment to serving others, with a vision to empower families through better financial information. Integrity’s platform will enable Power Team to expand its reach and impact, ultimately fostering healthier and more financially stable communities.

Varsity Brands Expands Its Educational Hub

Varsity Brands has expanded Varsity University, creating a centralized educational hub to empower educators, coaches, athletes, and students with a focus on physical, mental, and social health resources. This initiative, which has already reached over 90 million students and 170,000 educators globally, aims to impact an additional 10 million students and 20,000 educators in the coming year.

The expanded platform includes four key programs: Believe In You, OPEN, SURGE, and Varsity Spirit, each designed to promote holistic student development and enhance educational support.

“Varsity Brands has consistently championed positive change in schools, and the expansion of Varsity University exemplifies our dedication to making a difference in today’s youth,” said Adam Blumenfeld, CEO of Varsity Brands. “By ensuring equitable access to invaluable resources and empowering educators and students alike, we are fostering environments where every student can thrive.”
